Timber-Frame Construction

Why Timber-Frame Construction?

Structural Insulated Panels create a stronger, warmer, more airtight garden room than traditional timber framing.

Every Arden & Oak building is constructed using factory-engineered insulated timber-frame construction. We chose insulated timber-frame builds deliberately — the alternative, traditional timber studwork, produces a demonstrably weaker, colder building for equivalent thickness.

What a timber-frame actually is

A timber-frame is a single engineered component: two structural OSB skins permanently bonded either side of a rigid PIR insulation core. The insulation IS the structure and the structure IS the insulation.

The four advantages that matter

Continuous insulation

There are no timber studs bridging the panel plane. Heat that would leak through the studs of a traditional wall simply cannot escape a timber-frame wall.

Factory precision

Every panel is CNC-cut and inspected before it leaves the manufacturing plant. What arrives on site is a set of components that fit together exactly.

Airtightness

Factory bonding creates a continuous envelope with minimal air leakage — the single biggest cause of unwanted heat loss and cold draughts in ordinary garden rooms.

Speed and dryness

Because the shell erects in days rather than weeks, less of the construction period is exposed to weather. Your interior fit-out starts with dry timber and calm site conditions.
