insulated shell erection is the dramatic bit — the day a bare foundation platform becomes a recognisable building. Because every panel is CNC-cut, numbered and delivered as a kit of parts, a two-person team can typically erect a full garden-room shell in 1-2 days including the roof.
The sequence
- Floor panels first — laid across the steel-anchored bearers, mechanically fixed, edges taped
- Wall panels next — corner panels stood up first, wall runs added between them, each joint splined and sealed
- Structural bracing — steel or engineered timber lintels above openings
- Roof panels last — dropped into place from a small manual crane, spanning wall-to-wall, sealed at every joint
- Roof membrane — single-ply EPDM or TPO applied over the roof panels, welded at seams for a fully weathertight envelope
By end of day two
You have a fully weathertight, structurally complete building — sitting on a permanent foundation, with all its structural connections made, the roof watertight, and openings prepared for door and window installation. All subsequent work happens inside a dry building.
